Bird and Bat Conservation Plan

Consistent with the tiered approach presented in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Land-based Wind Energy Guidelines (WEG; USFWS, 2012) and the Eagle Conservation Plan Guidance (ECPG; USFWS 2013a), Ford County Wind Farm has completed a variety of bird and bat studies to evaluate risk in coordination with the USFWS. These studies and resulting recommendations from agency staff have been used to inform development of appropriate impact avoidance, monitoring, and adaptive management measures for the project.

Ford County Wind Farm has documented compliance with relevant wildlife laws and regulations in its Bird and Bat Conservation Strategy (BBCS).
